Updated : Aug 13, 2025

Hrithik Roshan, one of the biggest stars of Indian Cinema, is clashing with Superstar Rajinikanth on 14th August, as both of their big ticket films - WAR 2 and Coolie, are releasing on same date. Interestingly though, Hrithik remembered his special connection with Rajini, as the superstar completed 50 years of his acting career.

In 1975, Rajinikanth debuted in Tamil Cinema, Apoorva Raagangal, in a small role. But he soon became a phenomenon with his villainous roles and then transformed to lead roles becoming the phenomenon, he is today. He starred in many Hindi films in 1980's and one of them is Bhagwaan Dada. He starred alongside Rakesh Roshan in it.

Hrithik Roshan, for the first time appeared on screen in the film and had his first shot with Rajinikanth. Remembering this connection, Hrithik wished Thalaivar for completing 50 Years. He wrote on X, "Took my first steps as an actor at your side. You were one of my first teachers, @rajinikanth sir, and continue to be an inspiration and a standard. Congratulations on completing 50 years of on-screen magic!"

Well, it seems unreal to believe that Rajinikanth is still able to pull crowds in millions whereas Hrithik Roshan, who also completed 25 years, but slightly struggling to match Superstar's aura at the box office. With clash or without, respect that a legend like Rajinikanth commands cannot be ignored.
